Exciting Announcement for Our Parish & School
I'm pleased to announce that Brian Fink, who has been serving as the Director of RCIA and the Lumen Veritatis Series, will be serving as our newly created full time Religion-History (Western Civilization) Middle School teacher beginning this fall. He will also be serving as Director of Catholic Culture for our parish, expanding the work he has been doing with Lumen Veritatis.
For more information about these changes, please review the attached letter. I am excited about what God is doing here, and invite us all to pray that we will be more and more effective in fulfilling God's call for us here in the heart of the City of Lansing. Please pray for Brian, and the rest of the Middle School staff, as they anticipate changes in the structure of our Middle School. Please pray also for an excellent candidate to replace Brian at Lansing Catholic High School, where he has been teaching theology for the past four years. Come, Holy Spirit!

Prayerfully, in response to the Bishop's call for the Witness to Hope Capital Campaign, the Church of the Resurrection has embarked on a “combined campaign” to raise funds to invest in the ministry of our parish as well as supporting the ministry of the Diocese of Lansing. With gratitude for the generous support of the people of our parish, we are prayerfully seeking to raise $2,100,000. Of this amount, $1,569,488 will remain in our parish to fund parish projects, and the balance will support the wider Church efforts, as outlined in the general Witness to Hope campaign material. Together with the Parish Pastoral Council, Finance Council, and other lay leadership, we have determined that the following projects are of highest priority and comprise our Campaign Case for Support:
- Accessibility and enhanced safety for our two school buildings, which includes constructing a secure connection between the 2 buildings and ADA compliant access and egress: $1,200,000
- Beautification of the church sanctuary: $750,000
We are grateful for what God has been doing at the Church of the Resurrection for nearly 100 years, and are excited to see what He has in store for us as we near our Centenary as a parish. Please pray for the success of our efforts and those of the entire diocese. Thank you!
During the summer, Fr. Steve preached about the importance of reading scriptures every day. For those who would like a bit of help in taking a bit of time each day, he developed a simple "30 Day Bible Challenge" with the Letter of St. James. Since then, he also developed one for 1 Thessalonians. Click the links below for more information about how the challenges work.
